| During the wintertime, animals need more to eat to
keep their furnace going. They are always on the move, so expect to see animals in different
locations than the summertime.
The heavy snowfalls at Maligne Lake will push the moose lower
into the valley. This is the time of year we will see Caribou on Medicine Lake as well.
Sorry, the bears have gone to bed. Expect to find mule and whitetail deer, bull and cow elk,
coyotes, big horn sheep, eagles, caribou, and moose.
There are better possibilities for wolf sightings as well during the winter months as they also move down into the valley to watch for
those herds of elk.
Beaver houses and dams are in site, but the owners are probably nice and
cozy in their dens.
If we need to, we can strap on snowshoes and go into the forest
following tracks, so be prepared.
Your guide will teach you the winter habits of these wild
animals, and try to give you a glimpse of their summer habits as well. Don’t be afraid to
ask any questions.
