| The Icefields Parkway travels in the shadow of the
Great Divide.
Following the headwaters of three major river systems among the rugged
mountains of the Eastern Main Ranges, this route will take you through
scenes and experiences
you will never forget.
It is one the the world’s greatest mountain highroads, named for the
chain of huge icefields that roofs the Rockies.
There will be plenty of time to take in the
Interpretive Centre or even a Snowcoach Tour up onto Athabasca Glacier.
The return trip will
include stops at Tangle Falls, Sunwapta Falls and Athabasca Falls.
This is truly a breathtaking tour as
we reach elevations on the highway of almost 6000’. Allow 6 hours for this trip as there
is a lot of highway to cover.
Mountain goats and sheep are regular visitors along the
roadside, so do not forget your cameras!
